Darren Biby
Library Director
Darren Biby started as Waurika Public Library director at the beginning of 2016. He moved to Waurika in 1983 and graduated from Waurika High School in 1992. After high school, he attended Oklahoma State University, majoring in Computer Science. Darren is excited to be where he grew up and looks forward to continuing the work of his predecessor, Amy Watkins, by working with E-Rate, providing storytime programming, applying for grants, organizing summer programming, collection development, cataloguing, and library promotion. Darren enjoys working with technology, being outdoors, and reading.
Carol Austin
Library Assistant
Carol Austin has served as Waurika Public Library assistant since 2011. Prior to working at the library, Carol had employment that involved her working in the public. She has a reputation for being one of the kindest people in Waurika. She truly enjoys helping others and loves that she has a job that allows her to place books in the hands of people. Her prior work experience has given her abilities to have patience, compassion, and kindness to all the unique personalities that are encountered in a library setting. Her favorite part of her job is helping with storytime. In her spare time, Carol enjoys spending time with her family. She has a husband and three children, all of whom she is very proud of.
