The mission of the Waurika Public Library is to enrich the lives of the citizens of Waurika and the surrounding area by providing quality materials and services which fulfill educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of the entire community in an atmosphere that is welcoming, respectful, and businesslike.
Darren Biby started as Waurika Public Library director at the beginning of 2016. He moved to Waurika in 1983 and graduated from Waurika High School in 1992. After high school, he attended Oklahoma State University, majoring in Computer Science. Darren is excited to be where he grew up and working with E-Rate, providing storytime programming, applying for grants, organizing summer programming, collection development, cataloguing, and library promotion. Darren enjoys working with technology, being outdoors, and reading.
Carmela Juarez has served as Waurika Public Library assistant since 2024. Prior to working at the library, Carmela had employment that involved her working in the public.
